Ep. 270 | Beatles Anthology 2025 Episode 8

What’s the worst decision in Beatles history? Some might say it’s John’s “bigger than Jesus” remark, or letting “Magical Mystery Tour” air in black & white on the BBC. And yet, as decided by the good folks at Disney+/Apple/Calderstone/Zaappderstone, it would appear that the single most egregious moment in Fab history is the original “Beatles Anthology 8” runtime: 81 minutes. 81 minutes? IN THIS ECONOMY?

Fortunately (sfx: buzzer) much like labor laws, voting rights, and pride in this once great nation, Disney's "Beatles Anthology 8" has been drastically reduced. What’s survived is typically stunning both visually and musically, plus a few new (in some cases, literally) interviews are a bonus. But what else can this episode teach us about life?

🐺 Could this episode even survive without the topical/relevant drop, “T-Bone”, from the James Taylor 1988 offering, “Never Die Young”?

🍔 If Fat Mattress is the best of the ATCO roster of bands, is Mat Fattress ACTO’s biggest act?

🚔 Do the edits in this episode threaten the long discussed “Sgt. Pilcher’s Horny Cops Club Band” fundraising calendar featuring hot, corrupt global police officers of the past?
