Ep. 121c | The White Album (1968) Part 3

RUN! To your local White Hen Pantry. STEAL! The free 3-D glasses sponsored by WFLD-32 LISTEN! To the aural delights (cream your coffee with that, fella) of the UBP White Album Deep Dish Part 3-D!

Besides generously deep dishing on Side 2 and a teeny bit of Side 3, the 2 White Album Crew (#Daring1991Jokes) also ask:

🦝 Was Bob Hope merely a comic, or was he also one of the great (Rocky Rac)crooners of his era, the late 1890's?

🐀 Is it just a Q-incidence that neither NYC nor London had rats until they had Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats"?

🐸 How come Macca's "Unplugged" tribute to Uncle Pecos has no repeated stuttering of the common word "crambone"?

Don't be a (Henry) Winkle Picker! Maybe leave us a kick-a review wherever you rent your podcasts!

Ep. 121b | The White Album (1968) Part 2

It’s Part 2 of the Untitled Beatles Podcast White Album Fabstravaganza! This week T.J. and Tony deep dish Side One, going track-by-track and getting off-track-by-off-track, just like the 1987 CD did with the track separation on “Wild Honey Pie” into “Bungalow Bill”. Along the way, they ask the important questions, such as:

👅 Which part of the body is the balalaika? Is it a uvula, a female breast, or a Beatle growth? Please get that looked at!

🛏 What is A.C. “Iron Man” Green’s definition of the S-word? Does that mean his least favorite Beatles song is “S-word Sadie”?

🐾 On “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, did Eric Clapton perform the guitar solo as a teenage werewolf?

Ep. 121 | The White Album (1968) Part 1

It was great! It sold! It's the bloody Beatles' White Album!

And, no, Paul; we won’t shut up.

Because part one of the UBP Deep Dish on “The Beatles” is finally here! Tony and T.J. are sniffer-level giddy to discuss this album-unlike-any-other. And in part one, the Two Little Piggies delve into the history and packaging (#DingDongDingDong) of one of only two official Beatles-canon albums to be known, colloquially, by two names. (The other is “Tomorrow Never Knows”, which most first-gen fans know as, of course, “File Under Rock”.)

And despite this record’s massive length and girth (Sfx: a pained, guttural groan), Tony & T.J. find the time to ask:

🎅🏾 Is the “perfect” Christmas gift at Walgreens, Woolworth, Woolco, Osco, Venture, Wieboldt's or Montgomery Ward?

🕳 What uniquely-numbered episode did you download? And was it manufactured in Jacksonville, Jackson Hole, or Jackson’s Whole?

🍬 Does the inclusion of “This Boy” to the White Album Tape 2 8-track, directly after “Savoy Truffle” but before “Julia (pt. 1)”, improve the original track listing?

BUT WAIT! Is it Tony’s favorite Beatles album? Is it even in T.J.’s top three? (Or is he just too big a fan of “The Beatles In Italy” to budge?) Is everyone who only calls this album by its official name a jagbag? Tune in (#Lewisohn) this week, and likely the next six, as we deep dish “The White Album”!

Ep. 111 | Beatles VI (1965)

At The Untitled Beatles Podcast, we’re as ‘Murican as basebrawl, hawt hogs, and Snapple Pi. And because our ethos has and always will be “Spyak Anglish”, we (fine, one of us) know(s) the correct way to pronounce Capitol’s seventh Beatles album is “Beatles VEE EYE”. Like “Vee Jay”, only instead of Jay, it’s a different word (than where you come from. #JealousJasmineGuy)

Anyone who calls this record “Beatles Six” has a deep hatred for either “The Beatles Story”, or rightfully, one of the least popular/worst selling albums ever released, “Meet The Beatles”. Still, semantics aside, Tony & T.J. continue their journey - with Open Arms - into the Beatles Capitol albums with a look into this surprisingly great (Chris) hodgepodge of songs, including a song the U.K. didn’t even hear until the following year. How ya like them Snapples, Thatcher?

Along the way, the two UBP Bad Boyoyoyoyoy’s tell you what they see about:

🐴 Is the mistress of the dark, Elvira, actually a horse? And if so, what does it take to get her to giddy up a-oom poppa, oom poppa, mow mow, heigh-ho Silver, away?

🍗 Is your favorite BBQ prepared with KY Masterpiece, or are you more of a dry rubber?

🕎 If Drunk Billy Joel shows up to a Hanukkah party, and the house burns down, did he indeed start the fire? Or was it a lethal combination of crack and Bernie Goetz?

How to pronounce this album’s title is as contentious as rock & roller cola wars, so don’t take it anymore, and instead enjoy our deep dish on another fab, million’ selling Capitol album! Now Dominic Chianese, behave yourself!

Ep. 104 | Deep Dish: The Early Beatles (1965)

Jolly what! Jolly when? Jolly where?

Jolly here at the Untitled Beatles Podcast!

This week Tony and T.J. get their jollies with a deep dish of Capitol’s 1965 release, The Early Beatles. After an overview of VeeJay’s smash-n-grab 1964 discography, the bad boy-oy-oys delve into the cave of the Fab’s first post-Cavernous recordings. Inside, their musings echo about:

🎓 Who sang Twist and Shout best: The Isley Brothers, John Lennon, or aging Grand Lakes University student Thornton Melon?

👵🏻 If The Beatles = The Golden Girls, does that mean Pete Best = Coco, the housekeeper who only appeared in the pilot?

🍯 A taste of honey may be much sweeter than wine, but can it compete with the dynamite taste of Colt 45 malt liquor?

And if you’re in the West Des Moines area be sure to enjoy the Maytag Burger at the Drake Diner healthy low salt chicken at Kenny Rogers’s Roasters. Teacher says we must jolly what.

Ep. 102b | Deep Dish: Beatles ‘65 (1964) Part 2

We couldn’t leave this kitten alone! It’s the chilling conclusion to our deep dish of Beatles ‘65 (aka Beatles ‘LXV). This time our absolutely gabulous hosts inquire:

🍳 On “She’s A Woman” does Ringo play a chocalho, a cylindrical shaker, or a traditional British breakfast?

🎹 Could T.J. Shanoff’s Gliss Forensics one day be used to solve fab crimes?

✊ With regards to the American Beatles catalog, did Dave Dexter Jr. remaster or remasturbate?

Plus another edition of “What Was Up Geoff Emerick’s Ass?” All that and a bag of bubble and squeak!

Ep. 102a | Deep Dish: Beatles ‘65 (1964) Part 1

Most rock historians agree that The Beatles were ahead of their time, as evidenced by their impressive entrance at the Royal Command Performance via jetpack. In fact, the lads from Liverpool were so ahead of their time, they released an album in 1964 called Beatles ’65 (!!!). And boy did it age them, judging from their sullen publicity photos, maturing songwriting, and Wurther’s Original hard candies thrown at them on stage. As the Rutles would later say, "Ouch!"

This week T.J. and Tony deep dish another curious LP in their long forgotten American discography - Beatles ’65 - an album that has nothing to do whatsoever with The Beatles in 1965. It causes one to ponder:

📱Is it possible John Lennon owned the world’s first mobile cellular telephone?

🎡Could T.J. get carnival work guessing when Beatles LPs were pressed?

👃🏻If Ringo Starr was a scratch ’n’ sniff sticker, what would he smell like? #BeatleSniffer

So don something black, have a good cry for yourself, and let the phone ring endlessly, because the Untitled Beatles Podcast is just beginning to talk about The Beatles in ’65.*

*’64 (But by the time we finish talking about this album it will be 1965)
